棒立ちになっている、すすで真っ黒の二人に出会った。
似た背格好、おそらく姉妹だろう、お互いに支え合い、かろうじて立っている。
ここまで、やっとの思いで辿りついたのだろう。
二人ともその眼からは、光るものが落ちてきているように見えた。
On the path to the Koi Pass, I saw two girls who were covered with black soot and standing bolt-upright. They looked alike, sisters perhaps. They were barely standing. They leaned on each other. It seemed that they had found their way here at last. Their eyes appeared to have shades of des-pair falling to their cheeks.
