川向こうは火の海だった。
いたる所で火の手があがり、人々は逃げ惑っている。
４人家族だろうか、子供の手を引き背後の炎から抜け出そうと、山へと向かっていた。
焼けただれた両親の踏み出す一歩は、あまりにも力なく、いっこうに前へは進まない。
There was a conflagration of fire across the river. The fire was growing and people were running away.
For one family, the parents were holding their children’s hands helping them to escape the fire that was behind them. They were fleeing to the hills. But the parents’ steps were so very weak. I wondered if they would make it.
